Tom Pflaum is a trailblazer in digital video and media with over 30 years of professional experience. His gifts and enthusiasm for technology and programming began in his childhood, setting the foundation for a remarkable career in the field.
Tom earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Computer Science from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg in Germany. He further advanced his academic pursuits at the University of Waterloo in Canada where he received a second master’s degree in Mathematics.
Tom’s professional journey began at Siemens in Germany as a software developer. He later joined Integrated Computing Engines in Boston, MA, a startup spun out of Lincoln Labs. He developed hardware accelerated 2D and 3D video special effects software. He later became a founding member of Anystream, another innovative startup, where he was instrumental in the development of software products that powered the streaming video revolution.
Following these ventures, Tom contributed his expertise to Telestream where he led the Solutions Architecture team and defined the direction for digital video technology within the industry. In this role he solved complex challenges in digital media, delivering efficient, customer-focused solutions.

Spearheaded product management and sales engineering initiatives, defining strategic roadmaps for Vantage and Diva to enhance workflow automation, leading global teams to generate $150M in enterprise software revenue, and building a scalable, high-performing sales engineering organization from the ground up while fostering cross-functional collaboration and low turnover across regions.
Enhanced Anystream's market positioning for acquisition by designing customer-driven enterprise software solutions as Director of Business Development & Solutions, and as Director of Software Engineering, Tom managed a team of 10 developers to innovate video processing for the Agility product, establishing a strong industry presence during the streaming media revolution.
Led the development of BlueICE, a video effects product, by managing C++ lifecycles and parallel processing as Director of Software Engineering and Software Developer.
